Sinkle Bible: A practical aid in pre-diabetes reversal?

Sinkle Bible (translation from Jamaican patois to English as ‘Single Bible’), is commonly known in the West as Aloe Vera. The name comes from the many attainable benefits from the plant to solve so many insufferable ailments from GI issues to skin irritations. In short, it’s the Bible for the human body. This shouldn’t come as a surprise since it provides 8 of the 9 essential human-required amino acids.

In 2019, non-Hispanic blacks were twice as likely as non-Hispanic whites to die from diabetes.¹ However, there is a stage in which it is possible to get ahead of this disastrous statistic.

Pre-diabetes is a condition in which blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not yet in the diabetic range. The good news is that pre-diabetes is reversible through lifestyle changes such as a balanced low-glycemic diet (wha gwan, Aloe vera), regular exercise, and weight management. By taking proactive steps, we can lower our risk of progressing to full-blown diabetes and improve overall health with the help of plants and intentionality.

So how does Aloe vera play a role? A study conducted in 2015 concluded that Aloe vera restored impaired blood glucose levels within just four weeks, while continuing these efforts for eight weeks also improved abnormal lipid profiles.² Keep in mind, the integration of Aloe vera *alongside* lifestyle changes as mentioned above, requires a holistic strategy to commence the reversal of pre-diabetes.

For a nice gut, bladder, and kidney cleanse, and blood sugar stabilizer, you can steep halved Aloe vera leaves / rind in warm water (with gel intact) for several minutes in a mug (or 6–8 hours in a quart sized Ball jar), strain, and sip as a soothing drink. Fair warning, it’s BITTAH! Check my Shorts video for how this is done.
